Meet Lana.
Lana Daws has dedicated her life to students and the communities that support them. A lifelong Nebraskan raised on a farm in Ohiowa, Lana spent 36 years serving Nebraska schools as both a classroom teacher and elementary principal, building strong relationships with students, teachers, and families. Her passion has always been helping young people succeed and creating school environments where students feel supported, challenged, and inspired to reach their potential.
Even after retiring from education, Lana continues to serve young people and families through community service. She volunteers with Make-A-Wish Nebraska, helping children and their families experience moments of joy during difficult times, and mentors students through programs that support young people as they grow and pursue their goals. Lana’s lifelong commitment to students, service, and community is what inspired her to run for the Nebraska State Board of Education.
